Bicycles have been efficient in carrying luggage in most villages in Africa. They can carry a huge amount of things without taking a lot of energy from the porter, and they are affordable in comparison to their alternatives. The artist is inspired by the bicycle porters from the northern province of Rwanda and the amazing and unbelievable nature of their work.
