Philippe Mugisha

Philippe is a self-taught visual artist, photographer, and traditional dancer based in Kigali, Rwanda. His involvement in the arts started at a young age where sketching with a pen on paper and sculpting with wires was just a recreational activity. After joining Ivuka arts in 2007 as a traditional dancer, he was exposed to art like never before and this eventually led him to start his own career as a visual artist in 2012. He currently works at NP Arts gallery and his work mainly focuses on gender-related themes.
