Double-Toothed Barbet Portrait
2023 | Digital Photograph
Double-toothed Barbets build their nests in the tree cavities, preferring old Acacia trees. Parents employ the help of the previous seasons young to help find food and defend their territory. So when you find a nest site of these beautiful barbets you often find at least 4-8 birds. This barbet took an interest in me as I set up my camera and tripod near a nest site. It was probably wondering what I was, and if I was a threat to the family. It stayed for a few minutes before returning to the nest.
