The Journey is symbolic of the artist's journey of self discovery while forging a deeper connection with his familial roots. This piece is a continuation of the story of Ngoie, a series developed by the artist to reconnect spiritually with his birth mother. Embedded within the shimmering gold head piece, are sights and scenes from locations the artist visited in DR Congo when he traveled to meet his mother's family and learn more about her life.
