This large painting was created over a period of two years. It shows a performance ‘imishayayo,’ a type of traditional dance commonly performed at weddings and other ceremonies. The dancers wear matching clothes and smile to entice the audience. The energy and elegance of the performers provided further inspiration for the colours used in the painting as it gradually came into being.
