Benjamin Rusagara

Rusagara benjamin was Born in 1990 Masaka/Uganda, in exile at three years the artist has started making art. An autodidact artist who passed in master's atelier for artist like Bensassi from Morocco, went for residency in 32 degrees in Kampala, and participated in a symposium with Jalada in Nairobi.
The artist uses his art in reconstruction of materials, and figures in his paintings, sculpture, or ceramics and installations by focusing of grays to give power the silver back gorillas and it is a color associated with Rwandan passed, present and future tradition.

He worked on themes about reconciliation and the resilience after genocide against the Tutsi. He also invented a script language called "nkusunkushi' where he wanted to have a script represented by his heritage with forms and symbols of different meaning. The artist does jazz musical performance with his invented instruments.
