The African Jacana often forages for small insects and aquatic invertebrates on floating vegetation found in lakes and ponds across Rwanda. They spread their long toes wide to help them balance on the vegetation. They move from one piece to the next with short flights. To slow their flight as they land they drag their long toes in the water. On the eastern outskirts of Kigali is the Masaka Wetland, I managed to capture this behaviour in this photograph.

The original artwork is available as one of ten limited edition photographic prints on matte paper, signed and numbered by the artist, and finished with an 8cm mat board behind glass, within a black or white frame of 2.5cm. The approx. dimensions of the framed photo are 37 x 30 cm. It is also available as KomezArt print reproductions on canvas or foam. 10% of the artist's profits from sales of this work will be donated to the Rwanda Wildlife Conservation Association.
