This portrait features His Majesty Mutara III Rudahigwa, King of the Kingdom of Rwanda. He married Queen Rosalie Gicanda and reigned from 1931 until his death in 1959. He first demanded independence from Belgium in 1956 and he is a hero of Rwanda.
