My name is Marie Daniel and I like to refer to myself as a part-time artist. Throughout my life, I have been practising art while dedicating the other parts of my life to working towards social justice for workers and women. Two years ago I also became a mom and I decided to start working on an art project raising awareness on the vulnerability of children. I am South African. Within my own country, similar to Rwanda, a person is constantly confronted with the harsh reality innocent children live in. Much as this is true, humans also have the ability to move this reality aside and continue with their day-to-day lives. I hope my art will serve as a daily reminder that we CAN NEVER forget the plight of our innocent children. In whatever way possible, each of us should construct our daily lives to create a fair world for all, especially our mothers and children.
