Marie Daniel is a South African artist based in Kigali. Her background in urban planning and civil society organisations continuously influences her work and understanding of the world around her. In Rwanda, she is inspired by the architecture and sense of place of the villages found within the country's thousand hills. The role and protection of women and children within these settings are of particular importance to her.
