Natnael Shimelash is a lifelong student of photography from Ethiopia. His story with photography began early when he experimented with his parents’ negatives and stereoscopes. His photography, coupled with his fascination and deep appreciation of the rural human experience, explores rural communities in Ethiopia and Rwanda. In this endeavor, Natnael strives to capture the emotive life stories told by the faces of his subjects, through close-up in-situ portrait photography.
