Green Light
2024 | Acrylic On Canvas, Stretched on Wood Frame
This painting reflects on the 30th commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi. The large gray circle represents the 100 days of horror, while the three white circles symbolize 30 years of remembrance and resilience. The vibrant, chaotic background conveys the pain, struggle, sadness, and anger experienced during that time. Woven through it all are white lines—figures of those who rose up to stop the violence. At the center is a hand holding a candle, a symbol of enduring hope.
