This is one of the artist’s favorite personal pieces. The child’s stare begs us all to reflect on how much we care about the children of this world. When looking at her, it causes us to wonder what she is thinking or feeling and if she has someone who really cares. The black background shows her as a type of mystical figure emerging from the dark, who demands our respect.
