A journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step. Ispired by Lao-Tzu, a brilliant Chinese philosopher who wrote a lot about the Tao/Dao in the 4th century BCE. Lao Tzu was trying to express that great things start from humble beginnings. The turtle with gold shell represents the old, wise man that takes his time and moves steadily through life.
